For 49 years, Center in the Park, (CIP) a Gem in Germantown, has promoted positive aging and fostered community connections. What does that mean to you?
When you or a family member or neighbor is homebound, it means you can call Center in the Park to be connected to services. When you need or want a hot, nutritious meal, you can come to the Center and have free breakfast three days a week and lunch every weekday for a voluntary contribution.
If you, a loved one or friend would benefit from exercise classes and health promotion and disease prevention information, CIP offers free health promotion classes on site and in the community.
If you want to remain socially connected or volunteer to give back to the community, CIP is a safe, warm, fun and caring environment where the rights and dignity of all are respected.
If you have a loved one who is residing in a long term care facility, in NW or NE Philadelphia, you can contact an Ombudsman Representative at Center in the Park who will make them aware of their rights and advocate and empower them to resolve issues or concerns.
Why does your gift matter? It matters because without individual and community support, Center in the Park could not provide the number of excellent and varied programs and services, aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of thousands of older adults annually, that it does.
Just over 60% of the Center's funding comes from government sources, like the state lottery and the Older Americans Act funds, administered through the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging. Everything else we must provide ourselves - to keep the doors open, the lights, heat and air conditioning running and our 110+ year old building well maintained.
Your consistent support and gifts help to make Center in the Park the nationally accredited and recognized center that it is today. Your gift is extremely important because it offers immediate resources that are directed to current needs and opportunities at the Center. Please give to the 2017 Annual Giving Campaign
